2012 UPDATE

Oh dear I have not been blogging in while - we have had one busy year since my last blog :) The wedding arrangements were well on their way and culminated in Daniel and Kate's fantastic wedding on 2nd June 2012. I will upload some fab photos soon :) They are currently honeymooning in Mexico :)

Liam our eldest son was home from Canada for a month for the wedding and he and his girlfriend Kara did so much whilst they were here in the UK - they visited London for 4 days and also Liam went to Hamburg for the stag do with his brothers (of course) his dad and several of Daniel's mates seeing as it was his stag do.  they had a fabulous time and photos will be uploaded soon :)

I have been to Sorrento for a week with Gill - we went over Easter so we didn't have to book too much time off work and we had a brilliant time, even though on our first morning there Gill was getting into the shower and the mat which you put in the bath was not fit for the purpose and as she put her foot on it, it slipped from under her and she hit the bath edge with her face, splitting her lip and breaking a front tooth and pushing the other 3 back...... the hotel staff were brilliant - they took us to A&E and also picked us up - staying to explain to the hospital staff what had happened - having said that they all spoke perfect english.... putting us to shame.... she had two stitches and was very brave as didn't have any anaesthetic on it.... mind you I think I was braver cos I watched ;) The A&E in Sorrento was 100% better than ours we were in and out within an hour and back at the hotel in time for breakfast - which Gill ate all mushed up - we became known as the ladies who drank coffee with a straw (not me of course, Gill).  We visited Herulaneum, Pompei, the Amalfi Coast - which was just stunning - again I will put some photos up when I can - at the moment I am in work and I really need to get started :) not that I want to of course but I better had.

I have a weekend away planned with my husband in July in Derbyshire so looking forward to just having a chill out time and then in September another with Gill (can't remember offhand where we are going but its not too far for us to travel) and then our cruise (husband and I with two friends) in October for 16 days around the caribbean :)

Right am off to do some work now will be back later - hopefully x

here I am again - months later

well life is so busy at the moment - I am manic at work where we have opened a third office with a fourth about to be opened and a fifth and sixth in the pipeline for next year. On the home front, Daniel and his fiance have moved out of their flat and in with us so they can save for a deposit on a house - can't do that and pay rent and bills each month :( that's a sign of the times unfortunately but it's nice having female company around the house :)

I have become a great aunt again to Abigail who was born on 13th September - she is beautiful of course as is her older sister Isabelle :) Below is Abigail and I will upload a picture of her with her sister when I have one one this computer x

okay I know

I am useless at keeping up this blog. We have had a very busy time in the last few months - work is busy we have opened another office in Birmingham which is about 90 minutes away from here - luckily I don't have to go there too often now.

family life has been busy helping my middle son Daniel and his fiance to organise their wedding next June. We have also booked our family holiday for October next year 2012 for a caribbean cruise - different islands this time and I am so looking forward to it but before that Gill and I are off to Sorrento for a week over the easter weekend and we are so excited about that too am wanting to go and visit pompeii and herculaum (sorry can't spell that one).

In the meantime I have been doing quite a bit of my cross stitching and also trying to complete my last cruise holiday scrapbook album - am about half way through and also carrying on with the canada one which of course is ongoing. then after that I need to do my Australia one from February this year.

son number 3 Andy has moved out yet again to stay with his girlfriend in a house they are hoping to buy but have a few obstacles in the way at the moment but they will get there if they really want to.

I am currently stitching two projects - one for the wedding which Daniel and Kate don't know about and the other is a Golden Kite project called Reading by the Window and is going to take approximately 2 years to stitch - unless I can give up work and finally retire but that is looking unlikely. I will upload photos of both as soon as I can x

well I have had yesterday and today off work which is lovely just for a chill out :) husband and I are off to climb moel famau in wales today assuming the weather holds out so we will take the camera and see what we can get in pics :) if we actually get there of course x

then it is mother in laws birthday so we are taking them both out for tea and then i think we are visiting a friend - so much for a chill out day...... lol

by for now x

6 monthly update

sorry everyone I know it has again been a while since I have blogged - I need to get into it again. Once again my life has been a wee bit busy with one thing and another. Most recently Gill has had an operation and is recovering now, which means she is getting loads of stitching done - not fair, I want to be at home stitching loads too....

Next June we have a family wedding - our middle son Daniel and Kate are tying the knot on 2nd June 2012 and we are so looking forward to it. Isabelle my great neice is to be flower girl which will be lovely as her mum was mine in 1977 :)

Unfortunately Liam and Alex has split up in Canada - its such a shame but if they are not happy then it is not good staying together. They don't have any children which makes it slightly easier but they do have 4 cats and a dog to share the looking after of. We are still in contact with everyone on Alex's side of the family and Liam - no surprise to anyone - is staying in Victoria, to be honest there is no comparison to Ellesmere Port really...... I don't blame him one bit.

My inlaws moved into an apartment 12 months ago from their bungalow, its one of these communal buildings for the over 55's - I don't quite qualify yet but my other half does lol :) It is a little too small for my liking but then as they said I may change my mind in the future - the only trouble is there is not enough room for my scrapbooking and cross stitch things so I would need a Penthouse on my own, let alone with Pete :) They are happy there and they seem to be mixing with the few other residents - all the apartments have not been sold yet.

I will do another post on scrapbooking and my cross stitch activities soon. :)

09 October 2010

as you can see

the to be continued has been a while coming - sorry but life has got in the way am afraid.... anyway an update on this year is that we got back from our cruise and then christmas was upon us and just before christmas Andy and Sarah split up and we now had a brand new house to sell, which is still going through right now..... the buyer has been stalling for a while now but he has given me a date of 29th october but I won't hold my breath.... Andy has moved back home and Sarah has moved back to her parents and both appear to be fine and sorting out their lives living without each other.

on a happier note, Daniel and Kate are together and have been on holiday to turkey recently and had a fab time. Pete and I went to Canada in May to see Liam and Alex and had a brilliant time there and coming back in the summer wasn't such a shock to our system as it was when we went away in november. Having said that we have arranged our holiday for next year to visit friends in Australia and of course we are going in February so when we get back there will be a shock to our systems again... we will never learn I suppose.

Work this year has been so busy I have met myself coming back several times and i can tell you that was not a pretty sight... We have had lots of new starters - due to expansion - acquired a second office and are now looking for a third and possibly a fourth. We have promoted one of our senior solicitors to Associate and had a few drinks last night to celebrate :)

Pete is off to France fishin next week with his friend Dave and I have a home virtually all to myself for a whole week - Andy will no doubt be at his girlfriends most of the time... so I will have a fab week and then at the end of that week I go for a pamper weekend with Gill to Thoresby Hall, which we have been to before - one of the treatments we are booked in for is i-health and its what they do for astronauts when they come back to earth - it rebalances your body to take away stress which right now is definitely what I need :)

Crafting ie. scrapbooking, photography and cross stitching is still in the foreground with me and hopefully when I get my act together I will upload some of my projects .

but for now and probably another 6 months i will love you and leave you.

thanks xx

Oh dear it has been a long time

Well since I last posted in June last year we have had an eventfull few months to say the least - some good some not so good. Where do I start, Pete went away for 3 weeks in the summer to work in Germany - it seemed like an age and some things happened whilst he was away which I didn't tell him about because I didn't want to worry him unnecessarily especially as the turned out okay after a week..... anyway he came home and all was well :) we were looking forward to our summer holiday which we were taking late in November as we were going on a caribbean cruise :) :) :) with friends :) (which we had a ball on but more on that later) In October Andy and Sarah moved into their brand new 3 storey 4 bed semi-detached house :) and it was lovely :) Daniel and Kate moved into a flat in Chester a week or so later which meant that Pete and I now had our house to ourselves - it was strange at first but we got used to it very quickly :) November came and we were excited for our holiday. We went on 13th November - I know not really the day to fly but what the heck - we flew to Barbado and picked up The Oceana - P&O - there from there we sailed to Grenada, Isla Margarita, Aruba, Bonaire, through the Panama Canal, which was absolutely brilliant - even if we did have our one and only downpour for an hour..... then on to Guatemala, Hualtico and Acapulco :) we had the most fantastic time with Win and Doreen :) lots of drinking and eating and sunbathing. The shows onboard were really good :) and we then had to come home - arrived home on 28th November extremely jetlagged and absolutely freezing - wrong time of year to go on a hot holiday me thinks....

As you can see we went snorkelling in Bonaire :) which I had never done before and found to be fantastic. Not a hobby I would take up though as having shrivelled prune like skin is not my favourite past time but was fantastic for a one off or occasional go :) Doe who can not swim also had a go - didn't stay in quite as long as us but at least she had a go :)
on the 20th November Pete and Win surprised us both by advising us that we were renewing our vows with the Captain..... At first we told them to stop winding us up but when we looked at their faces they were deadly serious - they gave us an hour to get ready..... now come on guys a girl needs a hell of a lot longer on her wedding day to get ready - especially at our age - we have to fill in the creases and cracks these days not like 30 years ago lol - anyway they had ordered the flowers and everything was done except the decision as to what to wear which took exactly 5 minutes - good job it was a formal cruise :) The Captain and staff were brilliant :) didn't look like Captain Stubbing off 'The Love Boat' though :)

This was the most romantic thing that either of them had done and it was all planned well before we embarked on our cruise - they didn't tell us and only a couple of people outside of themselves knew what was happening. Mind you, we did feel a bit daft walking through the ship in our gladrags during the early afternoon :) but it was well worth it :)
to be cont'd.....
